Centreon Connect took place on Thursday June 27, 2024. this Centreon’s quarterly face-to-face event focuses on a specific theme related to the monitoring solution.
The pre-summer vacation opus was dedicated to the Open Source IT ecosystem. Mikaël Mourcia, Canopsis Product Owner, took the floor to explain the links between the two solutions via the dedicated Stream Connector.

Centreon Connect: A look back at the event
Julien Mathis and Vincent Untz – CEO and CTO respectively at Centreon – kicked off last Thursday’s event by sharing their vision of Open Source and its future prospects.
Laurent Meiller, R&D Manager at XiVO, then shared a use case on their telephony platform located at the heart of 18, France’s fire department emergency number, and supervised by none other than Centreon. It also focused on the joint development of monitoring probe packs.
Focus on the Canopsis Stream Connector
Then it was Mikaël’s turn to report on the Stream Connector Canopsis. Following a brief presentation of Capensis and our Open Source hypervision solution, he went on to explain how the connector works through a demo.
What’s more, as Canopsis and Centreon releases are aligned (two major versions per year in April and October), each is tested for compatibility to ensure that the Stream Connector works properly.
While Centreon hosts and maintains the connector, it is the fruit of assiduous exchanges between the two technical teams. This co-development ensures reliable, scalable and future-proof interconnection between the two solutions!

Continuation and end of Centreon Connect
Following this feedback, three speakers from Centreon took the floor.
Lucie Dubrunfaut, Backend Software Developer, began by explaining the “technical workshop” approach to connector development and its integration within Centreon.
Florian Mattes, Senior Product Manager, then explained how to integrate OpenTelemetry with Centreon, enabling metrics to be exported in this format.
Thomas Arnaud, Head of Technology and Innovation at Centreon Labs, then presented this entity, which hosts and publishes innovative projects, notably in the field of Artificial Intelligence.
Finally, Centreon Connect ended with a luncheon where all the participants had the opportunity to exchange ideas with each other in good spirits.
To conclude on the June 2024 edition
This Centreon Connect has therefore enabled us to place the monitoring solution back in the Open Source ecosystem. The XiVO and Canopsis presentations also shed light on the partner vision and interactions between Centreon and the two solutions.
